Our PTFA

Long Mountain PTFA, Charity Number: 1025374

Introducing the Parent, Teacher and Friends’ Association (PTFA)

The PTFA is a registered charity run by a friendly group of parents who work closely with school and preschool to organise fundraising events to enrich the education and experience for all children at Long Mountain.

We meet in the pub every other month, and we also organise committee social nights, so joining us is a great way to meet other parents, get involved and have fun.

Easy ways to support the PTFA:

  1. Easy Fundraising – raise money every time you shop online! https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/

It doesn’t cost you or us a penny. Please visit the website or download the Easy Fundraising app. It’s a free fundraising platform that allows us to earn money when we shop online. It works with over 7,000 brands, from Morrisons, eBay, JD Sports, M&S, RAC, Booking.com and loads more.

Once signed up, the retailer you shop with will send us a donation based on how much you spend. It only takes 2 minutes to register for free and all you need is your email address. Share with your friends and family too – the more the merrier.

  1. Donate ££ or raffle prizes

Do you own a local business or work for a company who would like to donate a raffle prize or help in any other way? Please get in touch. In return for publicity on our Facebook page and in the school newsletter, you’ll also (more importantly) get the feel-good factor by supporting the school.

  1. Buy / sell raffle tickets

We tend to run a couple of raffles every year and they are great fundraisers. We send tickets home with every child and really appreciate your help buying and selling them to your friends, families, neighbours and colleagues.

  1. Attend events

In the past few months, we’ve held a Christmas fair, children’s disco, and Pub Quiz – everything will be publicised in the school newsletter. Please attend events and participate when you can.

  1. Add your name to our volunteer list

To be called on as and when we need extra pairs of hands (no pressure or commitment). Some companies offer employer-supported volunteering (ESV) which gives employees the opportunity to volunteer during working hours, and some will offer to match fund any money raised.

  1. Come along to our meetings

We meet every other month on a Thursday evening. Please keep an eye on the school newsletter or our Facebook page for dates.
